It allows its users to create and publish blogs under a free web address. Which is also known as a subdomain for example myblog.blogspot.com. While it is completely normal to keep using the subdomain. But adding the custom domain, like myblog.com, to blog has its own pros. Now the process to add custom domain to web or blog is a bit tricky. And especially for those who are new at it. First and foremost thing that you must do is buy a top level domain for your blog.You can get your custom domain name from various companies but we recommend Godaddy. Because of their fast service and easy UI experience. Do put a thought in the process of buying domain name. Make sure to go for the top level domain ie .com, instead of .info or other TLDs Next, go to your Blogspot account and go to Settings > Basic.
There under blog settings, you will see this phrase + setup a third party URL for your blog. Click on it, it will open a panel where you can insert your domain name.Type in your domain name in that box, make sure that you have typed the whole address including www part and then press save. When you hit save Blogspot will give you a message saying ” we are not able to verify your authority to this domain.

Go ahead and login to your Godaddy account click on manage domains and move to DNS of your domain.
Here we will need to add two types of records, CNAMEs, and A records, to point your blog to this specific domain name. In order to do so, click on DNS or manage DNS. Click on add a record and from the drop down selection select CNAME. Here we will enter the two CNAMEs given by Blogspot.
- In host put WWW and in points to put ghs.google.com then save it and add another record.
- Here in host put the short portion and in points to area put the long one and hit save.
Now you need to add A records to complete the process to add custom domain for blogger. A record are IPs and will help to point your blog to the custom domain name.
To do so add a new record in DNS and select A record. In host area put @ and in points to add this 126.96.36.199
You will need to do this step 4 times while using these IPs respectively.
Now that you have added the required record in your domain name setting. Head back to your Blogspot account settings > Basic, there click on setup third-party URL enter your URL and then save it. And this time there will be no error.
And if you were on the old page where it had given you the error, just go ahead and click save and you are done. One quick thing edit the redirects ie click on the box that will enable your blog to redirect myblog.com to www.myblog.com.
